This was a very busy month!
We met with vendors from NatCon, including the Kindness Fundraiser! This low-touch fundraiser rewards students with cool prizes for performing acts of kindness rather than according to how much money they raise. Additionally, Maine State PTA will earn $100 for every school that holds one of these fundraisers before the end of 2026, enabling us to do more for our local units! For more information, see our Helpful Vendors page!
We reached out to the National Tennis Association to attempt to connect schools in Maine with some free sporting supplies. More details to follow as we progress!
We partnered with the Girl Scouts of Maine in order to help connect more children and volunteers with the resource we can provide. For information coming soon!
We helped some new units navigate the red tape required to become tax-exempt organizations and create their SOA documents.
We coordinated with a local unit to help plan a summer retreat, in order to address officer burnout and future leadership training.
We handled some administrative tasks, including updating bank accounts to new officers, and updating the website to include more information about what we're doing at the state level.
In the coming month, we are planning to follow up regarding the tennis kits, expand upon our partnership with GSME, finalize our state level SOAs, publish a survey to gain feedback from local units about what they'd like to see at the state level, and (hopefully) work with a local business to hold a small regional event in Southern Maine.
