Here are some of my key takeaways from the Pittsburg Together Again Convention!
National PTA is more than a non-profit, it’s a community!
As the only person from Maine, was alternatingly “adopted” by Mass., Ohio, Arizona, South and North Dakota... and so many others.
I made tons of contacts with amazing people eager to share their time and wisdom to help us strengthen our foundation and grow.
Needs and perspectives vary, but we are united by one mission: To make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
Conventions are jam-packed with great ideas and tools to help us better serve students across Maine. Some I’m considering:
Holding regular monthly “office hours” for local PTAs to ask questions, share ideas, or just socialize with other PTA peeps!
Working with local units and businesses to hold a (quarterly) event in a different region across Maine to promote both local and State PTA.
